Healthy Families knows you want to be a confident parent before and after your child is born. In order to do that, you need a little support and guidance at times. Here’s how to get started:

Healthy Families can also connect expecting parents to additional support options as needed.
Cribs for Kids
Helping families create a safe sleep environment for their infants
Healthy Families works in partnership with the North Dakota Department of Health Cribs for Kids program to assess eligibility and provide pregnant and newly delivered mothers with a Graco Pack n’ Play, crib sheet, pacifier and swaddle sack.
Healthy Family Support Specialists also provide in-home consultation on how to set up the Pack ‘n Play in a safe and secure sleep environment.
Breastfeeding Support
Learn about the benefits, how get started, and achieve success
Healthy Families has certified Lactation Education Specialists who can help parents achieve breastfeeding success by offering:
- Personalized support to get started
- Tips and resources on topics related to latching, pumping, infant cues and more.
- Ongoing assistance to troubleshoot challenges as they arise
Healthy Families can also connect parents to additional support options as needed.
Car Seat Safety Checks
Is you child’s car seat the right style, the correct size and installed correctly?
Healthy Families Support Specialists are trained and authorized by the State of North Dakota to perform car seat safety checks. They will check your child’s car seat to ensure that it:
- Meets federal safety standards
- Is appropriate for child’s age, weight & height
- Is installed correctly in your vehicle
Healthy Family Support Specialists will also show families how to safely secure their child into the car seat.
